RAS DAVE

The Roots and The Foundation.

Ras Dave is an anomaly in the modern music landscape. He is a foundational veteran of the analog roots reggae era who has seamlessly transitioned into the global streaming age. As the founder and lead producer of Ten Fathoms Records, he operates with the ear of a sound system selector and the precision of a master craftsman, dedicated to amplifying the soul of Jamaican music for a worldwide audience.

The Psalm Records Era (1995–2001)
The story of Ras Dave begins in the mid-1990s with the founding of Psalm Records USA. Operating out of California, he quickly established himself as an uncompromising producer dedicated to conscious riddims and heavy dubs. This dedication earned him access to the hallowed halls of Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica. During this era, Ras Dave produced sessions featuring the literal architects of the reggae sound, including Bob Marley’s legendary bassist Aston "Family Man" Barrett and iconic drummer Lawrence "Horsemouth" Wallace.

While honoring the past, Ras Dave was already looking to the future. In the late 90s, he became a visionary advocate for digital distribution. He dominated the earliest iteration of the digital music economy, regularly holding multiple top-10 spots on the MP3.com global reggae charts - charting alongside legends like Bob Marley and Steel Pulse. As a keynote speaker at the Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide (RAW) conference, he predicted the streaming revolution decades before it became the industry standard.

The Return and The Trilogy
After a hiatus, Ras Dave returned to the studio with a renewed spiritual focus. His comeback albums, What A Gwan and Smile, reintroduced his signature blend of uplifting acoustic soul and militant roots. His breakout project, War & Wisdom, cemented his reputation as a lyricist capable of addressing modern global chaos with ancient biblical truth.

Today, Ras Dave commands an audience of over half a million monthly listeners across streaming platforms. He is currently releasing his magnum opus: The New Testament Trilogy. This monumental 27-track project interprets the entire New Testament - from the history of the Gospels to the prophecies of Revelation - through the heartbeat of authentic Roots Reggae.

Ras Dave remains a producer, a selector, and a futurist. His mission is singular: Word, Sound, and Power, delivered to the four corners of the earth.
